Math Mammoth Place Value 1 teaches students two-digit numbers, or place value with tens and ones. The initial lessons that introduce tens and ones use a 100-bead abacus extensively. The abacus is not the only model used in the book. We also use a visual model of blocks where ten of them "snap" together to a stick. Then, the book also uses the 100-chart and number lines. Place Value 1 also has an introductory lesson on regrouping. The two lessons in the end, about graphs and money, are included as real-life applications of two-digit numbers. This worktext is suitable for first grade mathematics studies. Full answers are appended. Math Mammoth Place Value 2 continues the study of place value with 3-digit numbers.

The Math Mammoth Clock workbook is designed especially for homeschooling parents. It is a work text (meaning it contains both the teaching and the exercises) that you will find easy to teach from without the need of a separate teacher's manual. This book covers reading the clock, figuring out simple time intervals, and using the calendar, all in one book. The topics progress starting from the first grade level to the third grade level. So, your child can work the pages of this book in different time periods if desired. The lessons are divided into the grade-levels: reading the clock to the half-hour for first grade; reading the clock to the five-minute intervals is second grade; and reading the clock to the minute is third grade level. The material in this book becomes more difficult towards the end. You will need a practice clock so the child can turn the clock hands. Reading the clock is a skill that will be used in everyday situations.

Math Mammoth British Money is a worktext that covers money-related topics usually encountered during years 2-4. The book contains both textbook explanations and exercises, and is designed to be very easy to teach from, requiring very little teacher preparation. The book starts with year 2 topics, such as counting coins with pence-amounts and easy problems about change. From there, the lessons advance toward year 3, and finally to year 4 topics, such as practising with pound amounts, and figuring out total bills and change.

Math Mammoth Measuring is a worktext that covers measuring length, weight, volume, and temperature as they are typically covered during grades 1-3. The book contains both textbook explanations and exercises, and is designed to be very easy to teach from, requiring fairly little teacher preparation. This book is NOT organized by grade-levels nor with increasing difficulty. Instead, I have grouped together the lessons on measuring length, then measuring weight, then measuring volume, and lastly temperature. In each section, measuring in the customary system comes first, followed by lessons about the metric system. The first lessons in each unit typically have hands-on exercises where the student actually uses the suitable measuring equipment, and the last lessons in each section include abstract problems about conversions between the units.

Math Mammoth Early Geometry covers geometry topics for grades 1-3 (according to the Common Core Standards). The first lessons in the book have to do with basic shapes. Children recognize and draw basic shapes (triangles, rectangles, squares, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes). They put several shapes together to form new ones, or divide an existing shape into new ones. We also study geometric patterns, right angles, have surprises with pentagons and hexagons, and make shapes in a tangram-like game. The students also learn about symmetry and mirror points. In the latter part of the book, the emphasis is on area and perimeter. Students find perimeters of polygons, including finding the perimeter when the side lengths are given, and finding an unknown side length when the perimeter is given. They learn about how to measure area in different kinds of square units, and relate area to the operations of multiplication and addition.

Math Mammoth Add & Subtract 2-A is a self-teaching worktext about addition and subtraction on a late first-grade / early second-grade level. The book teaches the basic addition facts of single-digit numbers where the answer goes over ten, and how to use them with subtraction. It also deals with the concept of 'completing the ten', and how to use that when adding as well as subtracting. Later in the book various fact families are studied. This book is not tied to any grade level; however it best fits first and second grade math. Full answers are appended. This book is best followed by Math Mammoth Add & Subtract 2-B, in which the emphasis is on learning how to carry when adding in columns, and how to borrow when subtracting in columns.

Math Mammoth Place Value 2 is a self-teaching workbook dealing with three-digit place value - ones, tens, and hundreds. It is suitable for second grade; however the book itself is not tied to any grade level. Full answers are included. The lessons have many number charts to fill and use number lines to help visualize the numbers and build number sense. These lessons provide the basis for understanding three-digit place value. Math Mammoth Introduction to Fractions contains fraction-related material suitable for approximately grades 2-4. This material does not include division or multiplication of fractions, nor adding unlike fractions. The lessons are mostly simple, introductory lessons to various fraction topics. The topics covered are on a simple level, illustrated with pictures, and have small denominators. The presentation relies on the usage of pictures on a very concrete level. The topics covered are, one-half and fourth parts, the concept of a fraction, the concept of a mixed number, adding and subtracting like fractions, adding and subtracting mixed numbers with like fractional parts, equivalent fractions with pictures, comparing fractions, and finding fractional part of a whole using division. The lessons proceed so that the first two are suitable for second grade, and the rest are suitable for third or for fourth grade. The answers are in the back of the book.
